At 9: 00 a.m. local time on August 6, 2020, Technical Team Leader of the lighting project in central urban area of Vientiane Yang Junguang, Chief Engineer Zou Dawei and their management team members Liu Haizhong, Xu Tianjun, in a total of 4 persons, visit Counsellor of the Economic and Trade Office of the Chinese Embassy in Laos Wang Qihui. They reported progress of the lighting project in central urban area of Vientiane, Laos.

Counsellor Wang Qihui listened carefully to the report and gave important instructions. He pointed out that this project is a tribute to the 45th anniversary of the founding of Laos and the 2021 Party Congress, which is of great political significance. In particular, the upgrading and reconstruction of the lighting of fointain, sound and watering system in the Arc de Triomphe Square and the lighting reconstruction of seven roads in downtown Vientiane must be completed before November 30, 2020. The project should arrange the construction plan according to the requirements of the Cooperation Bureau, pay close attention to the preparation of design documents and external confirmation of lighting, strictly fulfill the responsibilities and obligations stipulated in the contract. Also we have to establish a sense of dedication to work in order to ensure that the project starts as soon as possible.

Counselor Wang Qihui requested that all personnel of the project technical team and management team should have a high degree of political and ideological understanding, strengthen communication with Laos, establish a working mechanism, clarify the responsibilities of both parties, and promote cooperation between the two sides. At the same time, we should give full play to the role of the project party branch and do a good job in the ideological work and psychological counseling of employees. Moreover, we should do a good job in prevention and control and formulate emergency plans during the epidemic. We also have to strengthen personnel safety management, achieve safe production, and ensure timely completion with good quality.

At present, under the guidance of the leaders from Cooperation Bureau, the Economic Cooperation Department and the project management unit, the survey and design work of the project has started on June 26, 2020. At present, the site topographic mapping of the project has been completed. And geological exploration is being carried out. The commencement time is expected to be late August, with a total construction period of 8 months.
